Coach Lefty’s 15 years fencing experience began at Morris Hills High School under the tutelage of the late and always beloved Barb Lynch, Coach Lisa’s sister. After graduating high school, he started coaching at Morris Hills as a volunteer and after 7 years of service, he is now the official assistant coach of the team. Coach Lefty has helped his students achieve great honors, including, but not limited to: Morris County Individual Champion, Morris County Epee Squad Champions, District Epee Squad Champions in 2014 and 2015, and top 5 Women’s Epee NJ Individual Champion. In college, Lefty was the president of the fencing club in which he wrote the constitution and reestablished club status with the institution. He is a co-founder of Forte Fencing Club. Coach Lefty is a nationally rated referee in epee, and uses his knowledge to observe and mentor new referees. Outside the club, Coach Lefty is a middle school special educator of mathematics. He combines the methods of teaching young adults and coaching to assist his fencers learn, understand, and master their art.
